It is our pleasure to announce that the 1st version of DJ-C7 editor has
become available for public release. We have tested this version and we have
never encountered any trouble with neither the radio or a PC. However, please
understand that this is a free software and Alinco is not responsible of
any possible trouble with your PC, its data and the radio by using this software.

(1) Open the Zip file.
(2) The DISK1 folder includes 5 files. For Windows 2000 and XP, please click
DJ-C7.msi and start installing it. For Windows ME and 98 use setup.exe.
After the installation this DISK1 can be deleted, it's only an installer.
(3) An optional ERW-4C cable is required for PC interface, and in case your
PC doesn't have the serial port, please use USB/Serial conversion cable; in
Japanese Windows XP worked with the conversion cable but we are not very
confident with the wider compatibility of a conversion-cable. The direct
connection to a classic serial port is much more reliable.
(4) Boot up the software.
(5) Turn on the C7 with MONI key pressed to enter the CLONE mode. Plug in
the 2.5mm plug (use ERW-4C's conversion plug) to the earphone jack of the
radio.
(6) Select the version of your radio J/E or T on the setting 1 tab.
(7) It is recommended that you first save the current data in your C7 to the
harddisk of your PC so that you can restore it after the evaluation or
eventually a trouble occurs during the test. To do so, press "read settings"
on the Setting 1 tab, then press "Read Memory" on the Memory tab. Select
"Save as" from the File menu then save it in your HDD.
(8) The setting tab 1 and 2 determine the operating parameters, memory tab
is...just like you see it. Double-Click on the memory channel you want to
edit and a dialogue box appears. EUROPEAN USERS: Please use period instead
of comma to separate the MHz and KHz unit 144.000=OK 144,000=NG.
(9) After the editing is done, Press Write Settings or Write Memory accordingly.
The LCD on the C7 will show some numbers then stops. Turn off the power,
unplug the jack and your C7 is ready to operate.

The software is simple enough so No help file is available. To delete the
software from your harddisk, please use the "Delete program" menu in the
control-panel of the Windows (you will see the C7 utility listed there).

We are sorry the software does not support the Mac OS.

Thank you for your using DJ-C7.
